The expansion project for the “9 d’Octubre de Carlet” secondary and vocational school (Valencia) was conceived, based on criteria of economy of resources and utilization of available space, as an opportunity to restructure the existing system and reflect on the impact of architectural interventions on the landscape in a privileged agricultural setting.
The extension is attached to the main building on its western side, adjusting to its levels, and extends into the unoccupied area between the various workshop and classroom areas, defining the plot boundaries. This densification action in the southwest corner of the center serves as a unifying element for the initially fragmented structure and gives the plot perimeter the character of a façade on a territorial scale.
